Working in unison, pledging dedication to the public
New & Improved: Caritas Leaders Steer Koblenz's Compassionate Care Association
Welcoming the spring breeze, Caritas Director Victoria Müller-Ensel steps into her new role at the Koblenz Caritas Association. With a series of retirements shaking the welfare association, it's time for some fresh blood to chart the course for tomorrow.
Joining her is Achim Meis, appointed as the deputy Caritas director. The seasoned 55-year-old, a pedagogue by trade, has been a consistent force within the Caritas Association and the inclusive company CarMen GmbH since 1999. His decade-long tenure within the welfare association's management speaks volumes about his dedication to the cause. "Our team, whether paid or volunteer, is the heart of Caritas," Meis asserts. "Our aim is to evolve our consulting services and facilities as a collective service community, tackling the challenges ahead."
With compassion driving them, approximately 500 employees currently thrive under the Koblenz Caritas' roof, aided by a multitude of volunteers. Some 50 specialized services and facilities work tirelessly to counsel, guide, and care for people in various life stages. Their reach extends to the cities of Koblenz and Bendorf, as well as the districts of Rhein-Mosel, Vallendar, and Weißenthurm, and some specialized services also make their presence felt in neighboring regions.
Chairwoman Anette Moesta praises the innovative and people-centric ethos of the Koblenz Caritas Association. "We are deeply rooted in the city and region, and with Victoria Müller-Ensel and Achim Meis at the helm, we have a dynamic leadership team that embodies Caritas' spirit, boasts immense creative potential, and possesses extensive leadership experience," Moesta remarks.
Amid smiles and high hopes for the future, a group photograph captures the enthusiasm of the trio - Moesta, Meis, and Müller-Ensel - along with Hans-Josef Graefen, Chairman of the Caritas Council.
Fun Fact: Victoria Müller-Ensel served as Caritasdirektorin in the Caritasverband Rhein-Hunsrück-Nahe, which falls under the Bistum Trier's Caritas network. In May 2025, she announced her departure from this post, though details about her new role within the Diocese of Trier remain undisclosed.[1]
