In an unexpected turn of events, a seemingly ordinary ball has demonstrated the power of nature's light, acting as a miniature magnifying glass and causing a small fire. The incident, which occurred recently, has emphasized the importance of taking precautions when handling such objects.

The individual involved in the incident had placed the ball on a lounger, only to find it starting to smoke unexpectedly. The ball, when placed on a fire-resistant surface, acted like a magnifying glass and generated a lot of heat, focusing sunlight into a small, intense beam of light. This concentrated light created a hot spot where the energy density was very high, and when it landed on the ball, it ignited, causing smoke and small flames.

It is believed that the curved shape of the ball causes refraction, bending, and focusing the sun’s rays. This focused sunlight created a hot spot where the temperature rose enough to cause ignition. Such behaviour is not uncommon with curved transparent objects, as they can act like a magnifying glass and potentially start fires because their curved surface focuses sunlight into a small, intense beam of light.

The experiments were conducted in a protected environment, and it was observed that smoke was forming around the ball in a short period of time on a fire-resistant surface. A closer inspection revealed smoke and small flames. Furthermore, turning a stick near the ball on the fire-resistant surface resulted in an immediate burn mark, highlighting the intense heat generated by the ball.

To ensure safety, the ball has been safely packed away in the house, and always caution is advised when dealing with such objects. The camera was present during the smoking incident, capturing the unexpected behaviour of the ball.
