Venomous serpents instilling fear among Shymkent residents (video footage)
Scary Slitherers Terrorizing Shymkent:
Slimy serpents, specifically the dreaded steppe snakes - vipers and gürzy - have become an unwelcome addition to the urban landscape of Shymkent, aggressively invading sheds, courtyards, and unsuspecting homes. This unsettling trend has gone beyond the city outskirts and even crept into the central districts, according to 24.kz reports.
The emergency response team has acknowledged encountering these creeping critters a discouraging thirteen times just this year, and summer still lies ahead. The summer heat drives snakes to seek refuge in the coolest spots possible, making the likelihood of a face-off even more uncomfortably probable. Last year, the rescuer calls tallied to an astounding 286 times.
"Ideally, these snakes shouldn't settle here," explains Irismat Makhmuinov, head of the emergency prevention department in Shymkent's DCHS. "But somehow they find their way into the city. If you spot one, promptly lock your doors, dial 112, and summon rescuers. They'll arrive equipped with specialized gear - snake hooks - to capture and expel these reptilian intruders."
Aktobe's suburbs aren't immune to this serpentine scourge, either. According to the locals, these slithering monsters are swaggering into children's playgrounds, causing even grown-ups to shudder. Authorities advise utmost caution.
Perhaps the most jarring tale comes from a 15-year-old youth who was recently hospitalized in Aktobe's regional children's hospital after receiving a venomous viper bite. He was promptly administered antivenom and received follow-up symptomatic treatment.
