TSU Develops Innovative Surgical Products: Hemostatic Agent & Adhesive
Tomsk State University (TSU) has developed two innovative products for surgical use. A hemostatic agent, a Russian analog of an imported product, and a surgical adhesive based on animal proteins have been created. Both products have shown promising results in laboratory tests and are set to improve surgical practices.
The hemostatic agent, developed by Professor Yevgenii Zavyalov and his team, has successfully passed laboratory tests. It is optimized for lower cost and has an antibacterial effect. This Russian analog is planned for registration after passing further tests. Additionally, a surgical adhesive is being developed to close small wounds, strengthen sutures, and stabilize biological tissues during complex operations. This adhesive, also created by Professor Zavyalov's team, is expected to undergo functional tests in the next two months before proceeding to registration with Roszdravnadzor.
These innovations, developed at TSU, have the potential to significantly improve surgical practices. The hemostatic agent offers a cost-effective alternative to foreign counterparts, while the surgical adhesive provides a new method for wound closure and tissue stabilization. Both products are set to undergo further testing and registration, bringing them closer to clinical use.
