Tragic incident at Wiesn on Saturday morning: actress, aged 70, failed to recover after resuscitation attempts

On the bustling grounds of Munich's Oktoberfest, known as the Wiesn, a sombre incident unfolded. The Aicher Ambulance, responsible for emergency care at the event, reported the death of an elderly woman. The victim was a woman over 70 years old, who, it was later discovered, was an 80-year-old refugee from war-torn regions, having been treated in a Munich clinic. She was initially assessed via telemedicine and subsequently cared for in a dedicated stroke unit called 'die Stroke'. Despite immediate resuscitation efforts, she tragically passed away. The precise cause of death has not been disclosed by the Wiesn's medical service, and no further details about the woman's identity have been provided. The Police Watch took over further measures at the scene to ensure the incident was handled appropriately. Unfortunately, this isn't the only incident that occurred on the Wiesn. A young man was treated in the acute room of the medical watch with suspected stroke, and five people fell while rushing to the tents and sustained minor injuries. Despite these unfortunate events, the main reasons for visits to the medical station at the Wiesn remain relatively minor. The most common issues include small cuts, scrapes, circulatory problems, allergic reactions to insect bites, and food intolerances. By 1:30 PM, the Aicher Ambulance had treated over 130 patients, with the youngest being an 11-year-old girl who was brought in with circulatory problems. A response team from the Aicher Ambulance was also dispatched to a showman's caravan on the Wiesn to attend to another case. In response to the tragedy, a crisis intervention team is supporting the woman's relatives. Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time. The Wiesn, while known for its lively atmosphere, serves as a reminder that emergencies can occur in any setting, and the Aicher Ambulance stands ready to respond.
