Three beaches in Kurgan region commence summer activities
It's time to hit the waves! Three badass beaches in the Kurgan region have been given the green light by the experts, thanks to Rospotrebnadzor. That's right, you can dive into these honey holes safely: Lake Medvezhye in Petukhovsky district, Lake Goryachee in Zverinogolovsky district (part of the 'Lake Medvezhye' and 'Sosnovaya Roshcha' sanatoriums of AO 'Kurganpharmacy'), and Lake Polovinnoe in Polovinsky district.
Here's the lowdown: the quality of water and sand at these spots meets the health and hygiene standards, according to laboratory-instrumental studies, as reported on Rospotrebnadzor's website. However, keep an eye on the water quality throughout the season, as the department will be monitoring mass recreation areas diligently. As for the official opening of the swimming season in Kurgan itself, it's still up in the air. Rospotrebnadzor has handed out nine warnings to beach owners about flouting mandatory requirements, so it's safe to assume they're taking things seriously.
Last year, the swimming season kicked off in mid-June, and only beaches with a positive conclusion from Rospotrebnadzor were allowed to open. The same procedure is being followed this year. But remember, for the latest, greatest, and most accurate info on open beaches and swimming conditions in the Kurgan region, consult local government websites or regional tourism offices - external databases like the Severe Weather Information Centre and general travel resources for Russia may not have the latest scoop on the area.

These spots, perfect for swimming, fitness-and-exercise, and even sports, have been approved by Rospotrebnadzor for health-and-wellness activities, thanks to their compliance with hygiene standards.
