Red Cross Gathering in Heart: DRC Harburg's Members' Meeting
Pumped Up and Ready: The DRK Harburg Community Stands United
The annual gathering of the DRK Harburg, held at the Citizen's Center Firebird, saw a showcase of unity and commitment among its active members. All 12 honorary presidium members stood firm, with six of them re affirmed for another four-year term.
Treasurer Reinhard Lackner put it bluntly, "Wearing the red cross isn't just about the jackets, it's about the heart." Legal advisor Wolfgang Reichel echoed his sentiments, stressing the importance of being part of the community working tirelessly for the district. Former city manager Melanie-Gitte Lansmann reminisced about her experiences with the DRK ambulance services, underscoring the impact the organization has had on her life.
President Lothar Bergmann felt pleased with the continued support from the presidium, stating, "It's not a given that they'd want to stick around, so we're incredibly grateful."
Bergmann presented the current status of the district association to the 50 guests and members in attendance. With a workforce of 1,241 employees spread across 60 different facilities and projects, the DRK Harburg stands as one of the largest employers in South Elbe.
The DRK Harburg boasts an impressive volunteer force of 322 active helpers. They can be found at the Harburg-Huus, the Kinderteller, in district readiness, the hospice, the DRK shop "Sister Henny," the crisis intervention team, senior care, refugee aid, or the youth red cross.
The DRK Harburg isn't just about providing essential services. It's also about fostering community connections. programs like "Elternlotsen Harburg-Süd," "Nachbarschaftsmütter Neuwiedenthal," and "Elternlotsen Neugraben-Fishbek" were launched to support migrant families in different districts.
Recent initiatives include training 30 new Elternlotsen and Nachbarschaftsmütter to bolster integration efforts across the region. The organization also supports community activities like the "Harburger Hallencup," a significant charity football tournament, and regularly offers soccer training sessions for children in collaboration with the DRK-Kita.
In a bid to nurture a sense of camaraderie and shared values, the DRK Harburg is open to new volunteers, especially in areas like Elternlotsen and Nachbarschaftsmütter. The organization encourages public support for its activities, like the "Monster-Tag" in the DRK-Kita.
In short, the DRK Harburg is more than just an aid organization. It's a community that thrives on empathy, hard work, and a shared commitment to improving the lives of those around them.
Other science, such as psychology and sociology, could be applied to study the collective emotions and social structures within the DRK Harburg community. The health-and-wellness sector could also partner with the DRK Harburg to offer wellness programs for its members, fostering a holistic approach to physical and mental well-being within the community.
