Bavarian Red Cross Conducts Vehicle Exercise in Tirschenreuth

The Tirschenreuth branch of the Bavarian Red Cross (BRK) carried out an extraordinary vehicle exercise on Saturday, 8th March, starting at the festival grounds in Tirschenreuth at 8:30 AM.

The exercise, which lasted for twelve hours and ended at 5 PM, involved a convoy that traversed several towns and cities, including Erbendorf, Pullenreuth, Waldershof, the A93 motorway, Wernberg-Köblitz, A6, Leuchtenberg, B22, and Altenstadt/WN.

During the exercise, a practical vehicle check was demonstrated at the Waldnaabtal rest area. The convoy's route was designed to simulate coordinated response scenarios, and both vehicle drivers and other road users received praise for their exemplary cooperation.

While the BRK frequently conducts such exercises to ensure preparedness for emergencies, this particular exercise in Tirschenreuth may not be a regular occurrence. To get specific details about the frequency or involvement of other units in the Tirschenreuth area, contacting the BRK local chapter in Tirschenreuth or checking their official announcements would be the most reliable approach.

Unfortunately, the exercise was overshadowed by other events in the Tirschenreuth region. A toddler in diapers wandered off from his grandparents and was found by passersby. Elsewhere, the local derby between SV Poppenreuth II and TSV Waldershof II was abandoned due to a severe injury to a Poppenreuth player.

In a separate incident, a motorcyclist died at the scene when a driver failed to see him. The authorities are urgently seeking witnesses, especially four children who may have seen the incident.

Additionally, a malicious act was reported on the Pirk Cycling Marathon "Border Experience" route, where nails were scattered, causing damage to some participants' bicycles. Despite this, 1,355 cyclists rode a total of 173,640 kilometers on routes in Germany and the Czech Republic during the marathon.

Lastly, a man was observed masturbating at Steinberg Lake. Police are urgently seeking witnesses, especially the four children who may have seen the incident.

While the BRK exercise was a significant event in Tirschenreuth, it was just one of many happenings in the region that day. For more information about the BRK exercise, contact the Tirschenreuth branch of the Bavarian Red Cross.
