Over a third of Americans are currently utilizing AI for managing their health, reveals a recent survey

In the ever-evolving landscape of health and wellness, a recent report by The Vitamin Shoppe has shed light on the growing influence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping behaviors. According to the report, a staggering 69% of Americans currently incorporate vitamins and supplements into their daily routines, with a significant 75% expressing concern about the impact of aging on their health. This concern is not unfounded, as 21% of Americans are actively fighting aging to maintain their youth. Interestingly, a great majority of Americans (73%) are keen on keeping up with the latest health trends. This eagerness is reflected in the fact that 3 out of 10 U.S. adults already use AI for health and wellness, with 21% of these users specifically relying on AI to stay informed about health and wellness trends. The report also highlights key innovations such as the boom of NAD+, new applications for peptides, the surging demand for protein, and the re-discovery of adaptogens like shilajit. Notably, 51% of Americans are now more aware of peptides and their role in health compared to five years ago. The top uses for AI in health include gaining insights into medical conditions, meal planning, exercise advice, and emotional support. In fact, mental and emotional health scored higher than weight management and weight loss (42% vs 38%). Sleep and rest are the top focus of Americans in their daily wellness routines, with 54% prioritizing these aspects. Interestingly, Americans find it easier to ask AI specific questions compared to search engines, and more accessible than speaking to a health professional. Trust in AI for health information is higher than social media and influencers, but lower than doctors and friends. However, about a quarter of AI users fact-check health information from other sources using AI. As for health goals, improving energy levels, immunity support, and cognitive function are popular among most people. In a positive note, 44% of Americans are embracing aging with grace, finding peace with aging. The growth of alternative delivery methods like liquids, gummies, and chews for supplements is making it easier for 34% of respondents. Furthermore, 66% of AI users are actively trying to add more protein to their diet. Looking ahead, it is expected that AI will become increasingly integral in managing health and wellness, with 68% believing in this trend. By 2025, hospitals, healthcare providers, researchers, and companies—including startups and tech firms like NVIDIA—are expected to actively use AI for health research and management, applying it in areas such as diagnostics, imaging, hospital administration, patient monitoring, drug discovery, and robotic surgery. In conclusion, the role of AI in shaping health and wellness trends in America is undeniable. As more Americans embrace this technology, we can expect to see continued innovation and improved health outcomes in the future.
