New recruits join the ranks of DRK Pforzheim's rescue and emergency medical team
In a warm welcome ceremony held at the emergency ward on Kieselbronner Straße 46 in Pforzheim, the Deutsches Rotes Kreuz (DRK) emergency service department has welcomed 13 new employees. Among them are five newly trained emergency medical technicians and six apprentices, all set to strengthen the emergency and rescue services in the region.
The event, attended by the district management, emergency service management, trainers, and duty planners, marked the start of an exciting journey for the newcomers. Ute Fiedrich, deputy district manager and head of the social work department, expressed her hope that the team would always feel valued and at home at the local DRK.
Jochen Irion, emergency service manager, presented the newly trained emergency medical technicians with personalized stethoscopes each, emphasizing that they had chosen the best job in the world. Sven Thieme, head of the practical instructor team, assured the new apprentices and wished the fully trained colleagues success in their missions.
The new emergency medical technician from the Lake Constance district joined the DRK ranks, adding to the diverse team. A Bundeswehr apprentice also completed his emergency ward internships with the DRK in the region.
The new hires reflect the DRK’s ongoing efforts to support its operational capacity by integrating fresh talent into varied functions. While details on individual roles were not specified, it is likely that these roles will encompass emergency medical services and dispatch roles, as well as general emergency assistance.
The new team members were encouraged to explore Pforzheim and the Enz district in the coming days before the first lesson block at the DRK state school begins. The event concluded with a family breakfast at the emergency ward, fostering a sense of community and shared mission within the organization.
The DRK emergency service department in Pforzheim continues to grow, ready to face the challenges of emergency response with a dedicated and talented team.
