Nordstraße Station
As of May 21st, the U-Bahn station Nordstraße was closed due to asbestos contamination found during renovation works. Similar to Nordstraße, Bordstraße has been subjected to asbestos testing. Further samples were taken at Bordstraße on Tuesday, 27th May, and are currently being analyzed in the lab.

In response to the situation, Rheinbahn security personnel are ensuring all train windows are closed when passing through the Nordstraße station. To allow fresh air into the cars, Rheinbahn drivers are opening all doors on the platform side at all other stations of lines U78 and U79.

Tests at the neighboring U-Bahn stations "Heinrich-Heine-Allee" and "Ergo Platz/Klever Straße" came back negative for asbestos. Furthermore, measurements on the construction site surface at Fischerstraße showed no pollutant contamination.
