In the heart of the Kuban region, the Center for Thoracic Surgery at the Regional Clinical Hospital No1 has made a significant impact in the medical community. This renowned institution, part of the 1st NII-KKH No1, has been at the forefront of cardiovascular care, performing a diverse range of surgical specialties.

Recently, doctors from the 2nd Cardio-Surgical Department of the Center for Thoracic Surgery achieved a remarkable feat. They successfully performed a complex operation on a patient from the Rostov region, who had undergone a large intestinal tumor removal two years prior. The patient was diagnosed with severe aortic stenosis and advanced atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries, making the operation particularly challenging.

The operation involved replacing the patient's heart valve and performing coronary artery bypass grafting. Despite the patient's critical cardiovascular diseases, the surgeons were able to achieve a successful outcome. The patient is currently in satisfactory condition and preparing for the final stage of rehabilitation.

The Center for Thoracic Surgery at the Regional Clinical Hospital No1 has a rich history of providing life-saving procedures. Each year, they perform 7,700 heart operations, with 2,000 operations dedicated to arrhythmia, 500 for congenital defects, and 220 for children under one year old.

This national achievement is in line with the priorities set by the national project "Longevity and Active Life", which prioritises the fight against cardiovascular diseases.

The Minister of Health, Yevgeny Filipпов, shared the details of this unique and challenging case on Telegram. However, no recent advancements or statistical data directly concerning heart surgery at the Center for Thoracic Surgery in Kuban are available in the current search results. To obtain such specific information, one may need to consult the official publications or reports from the Kuban regional health authorities, the center’s official website, or recent Russian medical journals specialising in cardiac surgery.

For those interested in staying updated on the Center's operations and achievements, information is available on Telegram. The Center for Thoracic Surgery at the Regional Clinical Hospital No1 has also made history by performing a repeat heart valve implantation in a prosthetic for the first time. These are just a few examples of the innovative work being done at this esteemed institution.
