Massive Humanitarian Aid Heading to Ukraine - Largest Delivery Since Conflict Commenced
In the heart of Europe, the city of Neuss and the St. Augustinus Group have joined forces to provide humanitarian aid to Ukraine, a country currently grappling with the ongoing conflict.
Max Lennertz, from the local initiative 'Neuss helps', expressed gratitude to the St. Augustinus Group, particularly Andreas Degelmann, for their valuable donations and trusting cooperation. The city hospital in Ukraine, the only facility in the region providing inpatient care for women and children in labor or postpartum, will be the recipient of this aid.
The medical equipment being sent includes over 30 pallets of supplies and equipment, such as a C-arm X-ray system, modern ultrasound and blood transfusion devices, infusion pumps, incubators and warmers for newborns, extensive surgical materials, emergency kits, and more.
The largest medical shipment by 'Neuss helps' since the start of the war has been organized. However, it's worth noting that a recent major medical aid effort involving Nova Ukraine, in the second quarter of 2025, helped purchase 18 medical evacuation vehicles to support Ukraine amid the war[1][2][3].
While broad international aid, mainly military, from Germany and NATO allies continues, the focus on medical shipments has not been as prominent[4]. Local Ukrainian medical efforts, however, continue through research institutions and hospitals[5].
Serhij Ostrenko, Secretary of the City Council of Pawlohrad, expressed deep respect and sincere gratitude towards the St. Augustinus Group and 'Neuss helps' for their aid. Serhij Ostrenko and Serhii Oliinyk, the hospital director, coordinated the aid.
Andreas Degelmann, CEO of the St. Augustinus Group, emphasized the importance of standing by the Ukrainian people during the ongoing war. He also thanked Frank Paulussen and his team for their personal commitment and professional handling of the aid operation.
As the hospital in Ukraine continues to treat civilians and soldiers around the clock in the fields of internal medicine, surgery, and neurology, the aid from 'Neuss helps' and the St. Augustinus Group comes as a much-needed relief. The hospital is at its limit and in urgent need of support, as stated by Max Lennertz.

Other scientific advancements are crucial for addressing medical-conditions in health-and-wellness, especially during humanitarian crises like the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. In this case, the St. Augustinus Group's donation of medical equipment to the Ukrainian hospital will significantly improve the facility's capacity to treat civilians and soldiers, aiding in its internal medicine, surgery, and neurology departments.
