His symptoms were grave - shortness of breath, blurred vision, high blood pressure, and weak oxygen saturation. Despite receiving medical attention and undergoing a CT scan, Anatoly's health deteriorated, and he passed away.
Wasting away in the morgue, Anatoly's body awaited burial. Finally, a decision was made to lay him to rest in Indonesia, with a burial permit sent to the Jakarta consulate and the funeral costs covered. The intended funeral ceremony never came to fruition due to religious holidays, rendering his body unfit for burial and necessitating cremation instead.
Irina Evdokimova shared with "BR" that a receipt from Jakarta and images of the police handing over items followed soon after the post-mortem actions. Snapshots and videos were even provided, depicting the removal of the body from the morgue and the eventual cremation.
"Draped in an orange cloth, placed in a white coffin, swaddled in white cloth, and reduced to ashes – that was Tolya," Irina conveyed to "KP-Barnaul". "Naturally, I couldn't anticipate dressing him in clothes for this solemn ritual..."
The consulate had promised to send Anatoly's ashes back home to rest alongside his mother and brother. With half a year having elapsed since his untimely demise, Irina now dreams of a reunification but faces the daunting task of collecting 30,000 rubles to make it happen.
