London-based dental practitioners successfully purchase a significant dental practice in the city, for the substantial sum of £5.6 million.
Sterling Dental Group in Southall, a well-established dental clinic and training centre, has recently undergone a change of ownership. Dr Kuldipsinh Gohil and Dr Jasmin Thoria, both long-time employees of the practice, have purchased the clinic using a £5.6m loan from Unity Trust Bank.
The new owners aim to continue making Sterling Dental Group as accessible as possible, serving primarily the South Asian and Somalian communities in the area. Dr Gohil praises the approach of Paul Kelly, Relationship Manager at Unity Trust Bank, who was involved in the acquisition process. According to Dr Gohil, Paul Kelly's interest in helping and supporting them was unique compared to other lenders.
The 18-member dental team at Sterling Dental Group is diverse, with dentists from a variety of backgrounds. This diversity helps break down language barriers and encourages patients to care for their oral health. The team's understanding of South Asian lifestyles and ability to make patients feel comfortable communicating sets Sterling Dental Group apart.
Plans exist to link Sterling Dental Group's training centre with universities to develop more student opportunities. Currently, the training centre supports around 280 student placements annually. The search results do not contain information about the name of the university with which the Sterling Dental Group plans to create student places.
Unity Trust Bank only lends to organizations that share their values. Paul Kelly, Relationship Manager at Unity Trust Bank, found a deep connection with the local community during his visits to Sterling Dental Group's surgeries. His involvement in the acquisition process reflects Unity Trust Bank's commitment to supporting community-focused businesses.
Since the buyout, six new jobs have been created at Sterling Dental Group. The clinic operates a private dental clinic and a training centre in Southall. Dr Gohil states that Sterling Dental Group is the first of its kind, with staff who understand South Asian lifestyles and make patients feel comfortable communicating.
Dr Gohil also owns dental practices in Somerset and Wales. He and Dr Thoria had been working at Sterling Dental Group for five years before purchasing it. Paul Kelly, Relationship Manager at Unity Trust Bank, stated that Sterling Dental Group is having a positive impact in Southall.
In addition to providing dental services, Sterling Dental Group is actively promoting better oral health in the local community. The clinic's efforts to improve oral health and create opportunities for students and professionals in the dental field are commendable and are expected to have a lasting impact in Southall.
