Individual suffered burns during the process of refueling a lighter.
In the Gomel region of Belarus, a tragic incident has occurred. On the evening of November 15, a fire broke out in the agrotown of Stodolichi, Lelchitsky district, claiming one life.
The fire started at 8:20 PM local time and spread quickly, engulfing a private residence. The identity of the victim, who perished in the fire on November 16, 2021, remains undisclosed.
The cause of the fire was an unfortunate accident. A spark ignited nearby property due to the improper use of a lighter, a gas canister, and a wood-burning stove in a single room. The homeowner, born in 1985, was refilling a lighter at the time, with a lit stove in the same room.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a person was rescued in the Buda-Koshelovsky district while being helped in the forest. Unfortunately, another injury has been reported in the region due to the fires. A man tried to extinguish the fire himself but suffered thermal burns. Medical personnel examined the victim and hospitalized him with burns of varying degrees.
Over the past 24 hours, five fires have been registered in the Gomel region. Firefighters provided technical assistance nine times during this period. One of these fires occurred in a private house in the Lelchitsky district on November 16, causing damage to a brick house.
