Incident Reports: Car Thefts, Traffic Collisions, Workplace Accidents, and Road Regulation Updates
In a series of events that unfolded this week, several incidents and investigations have taken place in Reutlingen and its surrounding areas.
On Wednesday afternoon, a worker was injured during roofing work on a company premises in Bruckenstraße. The trapezoidal sheet slid towards the 54-year-old worker, injuring his leg. He received treatment at the scene by the rescue service and was later taken to a clinic for further care.
In a separate incident, a cycling accident occurred Thursday morning between Tübingen and Unterjesingen. A 36-year-old man on a racing bike and a 10-year-old girl were involved. Both parties were slightly injured and received treatment at the scene by the rescue service. The girl was later released, but the cyclist was subsequently taken to a clinic. The accident occurred around 7:30 AM and was likely due to the low sun.
Meanwhile, the police headquarters Reutlingen's commercial and environmental department has initiated investigations into a theft that occurred between Tuesday, 7:30 PM, and Wednesday, 8:00 AM. An unknown perpetrator stole a Gallagher brand fencing device, model S400, from a pasture in the "Rauber" area in Kirchheim.
In a significant development, three car thieves aged 14 and 15 were apprehended in Reutlingen early Thursday morning. The car thieves were found near the scene of the crime following immediate search measures. They were caught after tampering with a VW ID.4 parked on the Burg parking lot in Mühlbergerstraße.
The Kirchheim police station has taken over the investigations, as there are indications that the trio might be responsible for other vehicle break-ins in the past. Three drivers were initially suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs during a targeted traffic inspection on the European Road on Wednesday, but no arrests have been made in this regard.
In a separate matter, the Esslingen police station has initiated investigations into a shoplifting incident near a sports outlet and a subsequent traffic accident involving a silver VW Passat. The Reutlingen Police Headquarters is seeking witness information related to these events, as they believe there might be links with other vehicle thefts.
Lastly, it's worth noting that one person was temporarily detained pending payment of an outstanding three-digit sum due to an existing arrest warrant. However, this incident is not directly related to the other events mentioned above.
As always, we encourage anyone with information related to these incidents to contact the appropriate authorities. Safety and justice remain our top priorities.
