This badass replacement for the old "Ecology" national project is all about preserving and revitalizing our beautiful Earth. The project has set some wicked awesome goals to be accomplished by 2030 and 2036. For instance, by 2036, cities with sky-high air pollution levels gotta cut their emissions of hazardous pollutants in half. 💔💨
There's a doc called "Dr. Natalia Usuova's Takes" that gives ya a rundown on how this project's shaping up in the Ural region, which has always got a problem with reducing toxic emissions. She says it's a big concern for cities like Chelyabinsk, Magnitogorsk, and Nizhny Tagil, and it's been highlighted at the national level in the Decree of the President of Russia No. 204, dated May 7, 2018, and then detailed even further in the federal project "Clean Skies" 🌤️💨
In Nizhny Tagil, industrial emissions have dropped 14.4% since 2017. 🤘
In Magnitogorsk, the biggest air polluter, MMK, slashed emissions of harmful crap by a whopping 27% over the same timeframe. They got some fancy-schmancy new equipment to thank for that, was the coke battery No. 12 with high-tech dry coke quenching tech 😮
Air pollution has plummeted in Chelyabinsk too. From 2018 to 2024, the total drop in emissions was 48%, and for especially dangerous substances, that's a 30% decrease! 💥
Recently, the Chelyabinsk Electrometallurgical Combine, one of the biggest air polluters, shut down part of its electrode production. 🌱🎉
