Hospital's Enhancement of Outpatient Services Alleviates Emergency Department Strain

In just a few weeks, the Ingolstadt Clinic will be introducing a new service aimed at revolutionising outpatient care in the region. On October 1, 2025, "INakut - the Day Practice" will commence operations, providing door-to-door outpatient medical care in conjunction with the inpatient services of the Ingolstadt Clinic.

This joint initiative between the Ingolstadt Clinic and private practice is a significant step towards advancing cross-sector care for the benefit of patients. Led by Dr. Anton Böhm, the practice will offer a direct and easily accessible point of contact for medical care in Ingolstadt.

During regular practice hours on weekdays, "INakut - the Day Practice" will use the premises of the on-call practice GOIN. The existing services of GOIN will remain unchanged outside of INakut's hours.

INakut is designed to provide immediate care during the day for patients who need urgent but non-life-threatening treatment. By offering this service, it helps divert patients from the emergency room who might otherwise seek care there for non-emergency conditions. This reduces the burden on the ER, allowing emergency staff to focus more on severe and life-threatening cases.

Patients treated at INakut will be referred back to their family doctor after treatment. If a patient's condition requires inpatient care, they will be transferred to the Ingolstadt Clinic. This setup is intended as a daytime alternative for cases that do not require full emergency room resources or overnight hospitalization.

The opening of INakut is an important step towards future-proof care for Ingolstadt and the region. It is expected to strengthen supply security for all Ingolstadt residents and relieve the emergency room, improving outpatient care in the city.

Dr. Andreas Tiete, Medical Director and Managing Director of Medicine, Nursing, and Information Technology at the Ingolstadt Clinic, has expressed his views on the importance of INakut. He believes that it will significantly improve the quality of care for patients in Ingolstadt.

Dr. Anton Böhm, the lead physician of INakut, offers outpatient medical care at seven locations in Ingolstadt, including the new "INakut - the Day Practice" starting in October 2025. For the precise opening times and appointment procedures, contacting the Ingolstadt Clinic directly or checking their official patient information is recommended.

In summary, INakut's daytime practice schedule at the Ingolstadt Clinic promotes more efficient use of healthcare resources, easing emergency room congestion and enhancing overall patient care in the outpatient setting. This innovative service is set to make a significant impact on healthcare provision in Ingolstadt.
