HIV screening facility to launch in Krasnodar, offering complementary services

In the heart of Krasnodar, residents now have easy access to crucial health services. HIV testing is now free and readily available at multiple locations, including the mobile point, AIDS prevention and control centers, and medical institutions throughout the city.

This initiative, spearheaded by Svetlana Kharlamova, the Deputy Head of the Krasnodar City Administration and the head of the department for public health protection, aims to make HIV testing accessible to all city residents. Svetlana emphasises the importance of individual consultations for disease prevention and encourages everyone to take advantage of this opportunity.

HIV, if left undetected, often has no symptoms in its early stages. This makes regular testing all the more essential. The only reliable method of detecting the HIV virus is a blood test, which is now available at no cost in various locations across Krasnodar.

For those seeking anonymity, all testing locations offer confidential and free services. The mobile testing point, for instance, will be stationed in Yekaterininsky Garden from September 19, offering express testing from 10:00 to 13:00. Visitors to the mobile testing point can also receive individual consultations from doctors on preventing HIV.

Individual consultations on HIV prevention are not limited to the mobile testing point. They are available at all medical institutions and AIDS prevention and control centers in Krasnodar. Svetlana Kharlamova notes that HIV can affect anyone, regardless of their lifestyle or social status, making these consultations invaluable to the community.

City residents are encouraged to take this opportunity to get tested and learn more about preventing HIV. With these services now widely available and free of charge, there's no excuse to put your health at risk. Remember, knowledge is power, and in the case of HIV, it could save lives.

This information has been sourced from the city administration's press service. For more details, residents are advised to contact their local medical institutions or AIDS prevention and control centers.
