In a recent incident, a truck with a trailer was found to have disregarded the traffic restriction on Federal Road 45 in Zell, South Hesse. According to the South Hesse State Police, the vehicle was carrying cargo in domestic traffic, known as cabotage, which is permitted under certain conditions for out-of-area transport companies.
However, the truck was found to be non-compliant, as it did not have the latest generation and current version of digital tachographs, as required. As a result, the police prohibited further travel for the vehicle and fined the driver 130 euros.
The South Hesse State Police traffic specialists were involved in the inspection of the non-compliant vehicle. The driver will also receive a point in Flensburg, and a security deposit of 2500 euros was ordered to secure the possible fine procedure.
The bridge on Federal Road 45 in Bad König, South Hesse, is currently closed to trucks over 3.5 tons, except for loading and unloading vehicles. The police will continue to monitor the traffic restriction for trucks in Zell.
