Four-time mother battles her complex medical condition

In a heartening development, a 33-year-old woman from the Nadyezhda district successfully underwent a planned cesarean section at Vladivostok Clinical Maternity Hospital No. 3. The delivery, which took place under the skilled guidance of the medical team, was a result of the woman's diagnosis with partial placenta accreta, a potentially life-threatening pregnancy condition.

Placenta accreta, a condition where the placenta abnormally attaches itself too deeply into the uterine wall, can lead to severe complications such as postpartum hemorrhage, blood transfusions, hysterectomy, and maternal morbidity. The condition is often linked to previous cesarean deliveries, uterine surgeries, and advanced maternal age.

The operation at Vladivostok Clinical Maternity Hospital No. 3 was carried out with the aid of special equipment, including a blood collection device and an advanced argon plasma coagulator. The successful outcome of the delivery was made possible by the hospital's skilled medical team and their thorough preparation.

The baby, a bouncing boy, weighed approximately 6 kilograms and measured 48 cm. The mother and baby are now preparing for discharge and will be returning home, much to the delight of the family and friends who have been eagerly awaiting their return.

Svetlana Sagaidachnaya, the chief physician of Maternity Hospital No. 3, highlighted the importance of regular check-ups during pregnancy, emphasising that this case underscores the significance of monitoring one's health during pregnancy and not neglecting regular check-ups.

This successful delivery serves as a testament to the hospital's commitment to providing quality care and ensuring the safety of both mother and baby. The hospital remains dedicated to continuing its efforts in delivering safe and successful pregnancies.

Science plays a crucial role in addressing medical-conditions like placenta accreta, an abnormal attachment of the placenta, which can lead to severe complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Regular check-ups, as emphasized by Svetlana Sagaidachnaya, a chief physician, are essential for the early detection and management of such health-and-wellness issues, particularly in women's health.
