A fire incident occurred at a homeless shelter and asylum accommodation on Schoenaicher Street in Bobingen, Ludwigsburg, on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at approximately 17:10 PM. The local fire department was promptly called to the scene and quickly extinguished the fire.

According to the Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters, the head of the police directorate is Thomas Wild, who took over as the leader of the Ludwigsburg Police Headquarters on September 1, 2025. The police are currently investigating the incident, and preliminary findings suggest that a 28-year-old resident of the accommodation may have started the fire.

Upon completing the initial police measures, the 28-year-old was taken to a psychiatric facility. Upon his return to the accommodation at around 21:00 PM, it is alleged that he turned on all the stove burners in the kitchen. The fire that ensued involved packaging waste on the floor of the resident's room, causing an estimated property damage of approximately 1,000 euros.

Unfortunately, a 29-year-old resident suffered minor smoke inhalation and was taken to the hospital by emergency services. The fire department managed to extinguish the smoldering items before any further damage could be caused.
