European Union is spearheading a fresh project to boost Internet usage across member states.
In the heart of Aschaffenburg, from September 17th to October 16th, the Martinushaus will play host to the exhibition 'Art Dementia Community,' showcasing works created by individuals living with dementia. This unique exhibition is part of the Bavarian Dementia Week, a significant event aimed at raising awareness and offering support for those affected by dementia.
The exhibition's vernissage will take place on Wednesday, September 17th, at 5 pm, and will be followed by the event 'Hold Onto What Unites Us' on Friday, September 19th, from 3 to 5 pm. Admission will be available from 2 pm, and entry to both events is free.
The second part of the event, 'Hold Onto What Unites Us,' features an interactive sensory course. Participants can experience firsthand how sensory perceptions change with age and gain valuable insights into adapting meals and surroundings to the needs of people with dementia. Various aids will be used to raise awareness of changed sensory perceptions, and tips on empathetic interaction with those affected by dementia will be provided.
Iris Schubert from the Bavarian Office of Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry will deliver a lecture during the event, focusing on the importance of joy in eating and social participation for people with dementia.
The event is organized by multiple local organizations, including the Care Support Points of the Landkreis and City of Aschaffenburg, the Senior Advisory Services, the Health Region Plus, the Alzheimer Society of Aschaffenburg, the Demenz Untermain Consultation Center, the Franz-Goehler Foundation Hoehbach, and the Martinusforum.

The event is open to relatives, volunteers, and those affected by dementia, making it an excellent opportunity for the community to come together and support each other during this challenging journey.
