Early operations commence at the combined centre Black Forest ahead of schedule
Newenburg's Joint Center Black Forest to Open on September 1, 2016
In a significant development for the medical landscape of Newenburg, the Joint Center Black Forest is set to commence operations at the Enzkreis Clinic on September 1, 2016.
The new specialized clinic, which has been in the planning stages for some time, is anticipated to significantly enhance the medical performance spectrum of the small Newenburg hospital. The project was initially discussed on a private level between Professor Dr. Stefan Sell, a renowned specialist in rheumatology and joint surgery in Bad Wildbad, and Dr. Andreas Buchgraber, a city councilor and doctor in Newenburg.
The Joint Center Black Forest will focus on a range of medical specialties, including endoprosthetics of all extremities, foot and ankle surgery, hand surgery, rheumatology, sports medicine, and shoulder surgery. The name of the new clinic was determined through an employee competition at the Newenburg hospital.
Landrat Karl Röckinger, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Enzkreis Clinics, played a significant role in the project. He emphasized that the project's approval by the municipal bodies was achieved quickly. Röckinger also anticipates a medium-term investment program of around 3.5 million euros for the new clinic.
Significant investments are planned for the new clinic, initially focusing on two new operating rooms, called modules. In addition to these, a comfort station with a panoramic view of the castle and the Enz valley is planned on the 3rd floor, and a physiotherapy practice is also planned for the same floor.
The county councilors Günter Bächle and Rolf Leo provided support for the project as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Enzkreis Clinics. Mayor Horst Martin was also involved in the project's development. Professor Dr. Jörg Martin, CEO of the Regional Clinics Holding (RKH), was one of the project initiators.
Interior renovation measures are planned for the 3rd floor in the Newenburg hospital, which has been unfinished so far. The aim is to gradually eliminate the hospital's high financial deficits in the long term through the successful operation of the Joint Center Black Forest.
