Amidst criticism, the sector's sales have nearly doubled over the past decade, reaching 2.9 billion euros in 2024.

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) has flagged potential risks associated with the consumption of vitamins, trace elements (oligoelements), and plant extracts, which often go overlooked. However, the specifics of these risks were not delved into in the current context.
