Construction Site Witnesses Speak Out: Accounts Regarding Maria Kovalchuk's Alleged Crane Climbing After Disappearance for Five Hours
In March 2025, Ukrainian model Maria Kovalchuk suffered a brutal assault in Dubai, resulting in severe injuries that included a broken spine and broken limbs. According to Kovalchuk, she was attending a party with wealthy Russian men after missing a flight, when she was held captive, subjected to violence, and had her passport confiscated. When she resisted sexual demands, she was beaten and either pushed or fell from a height at a construction site, which left her with critical injuries.
Kovalchuk was missing for over a week before being found severely injured on the side of a road in Dubai. Her family and friends have rejected the official police version that she accidentally fell from a prohibited construction site alone, stating that the story is a fabrication. Kovalchuk's injuries, including a scalp injury reported by her mother, and her testimony suggest deliberate assault and attempted captivity by the men she encountered.
The investigation into the incident is not progressing, and Kovalchuk has not filed any charges against her alleged offenders. Artem Papazov, a 19-year-old man who met Kovalchuk in the hotel lobby on March 9, 2025, was one of the individuals present at the party. Kovalchuk claims that there were hints of intimacy from the party participants, but nothing ultimately happened.
Alexandra Mertsalova, another individual present at the party, disputes Kovalchuk's version of events, stating that she did not see any hard liquor or white powder at the party. Mertsalova also left the party before the alleged incident on the second day. The group spent around a day and a half in the hotel, with Kovalchuk's hotel booking due to expire on March 9, 2025.
Kovalchuk and her mother are currently residing in Norway. The group did not utter a word about politics during the party, and the incident does not have a political undertone. Kovalchuk primarily earned money as a model on the OnlyFans site. It was reported that Kovalchuk tried to enter the construction site around 2 a.m. and was stopped.
The KP.RU investigative story emphasises the stark contrast between the official accidental fall explanation and Kovalchuk's claim of being violently attacked and abused by a group of men, reflecting suspicious circumstances and apparent failure of authorities to hold suspects accountable. Kovalchuk has identified her alleged assailants, who were questioned and released without charges, adding to the controversy around the incident and its investigation.
