In the Siberian city of Yakutsk, residents and visitors have been taking advantage of a recent health initiative, known as the 'HealthCheck' event. The event, which took place on Ordzhonikidze Square from July 31st to August 1st, continues daily from 14:00 to 19:00 in the city park near the "Forest Library".
The 'HealthCheck' event offers a wide range of services, including ECG, spirometry, body composition assessment, consultations with doctors and psychologists, and express blood tests for sugar, cholesterol, diabetes, and stroke risks. Participants have praised the event for its convenience, as no prior appointments are required for tests and consultations.
On Friday, August 8th, a dermatovenereologist will be available for consultations. Previously, services were available on Monday, and testing for infections, such as HIV and syphilis, is planned for August 5th, while testing for oncological markers is available on August 6th.
The head doctor of the Republican Health Center, Yulia Spiridonova, emphasised that the 'HealthCheck' event is not just a diagnosis, but an opportunity to adjust one's lifestyle in time. Spiridonova also noted that such projects are particularly important for remote areas like Yakutsk, where access to specialists can be limited.
Over the two-day period, more than 200 residents and visitors of the capital took advantage of the free health checks. Among them were Ivan Osipov from Yakutsk, who attended the event with his aunt and mother, and Darya Malysheva from the Lower Kolyma District. All participants expressed satisfaction with the service.
