Child's Tragic Death Resulting from Deodorant Inhalation, As Expert Reveals - Child succumbed to inhalation of deodorizer spray
In the spring of this year, an unfortunate incident occurred in the town of Hattingen, Germany. An 11-year-old girl was found dead at her home on March 8, and the cause of her death is currently under investigation.
According to reports, the girl's death was caused by inhaling deodorant spray. A toxicological report conducted on her body showed evidence of deodorant spray in her system. The police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death, but it is unclear if a "dare-like challenge" like the "Deo-Challenge" that was circulating on social media may have played a role.
The "Deo-Challenge" involves children and young people daring each other to inhale deodorant spray. The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) warned of the dangers of misusing deodorant sprays as early as 2023, describing such actions as highly health-endangering and potentially life-threatening.
The police believe the death of the 11-year-old girl was an accident. Despite this, they are still investigating the case thoroughly to determine the full details. The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) has not reported any specific individual being responsible for the issues arising from the case of poisoning by deodorant spray.
The incident has sparked concern and calls for increased awareness about the dangers of such challenges. The police urge parents to talk to their children about the risks associated with these types of behaviours and to monitor their activities online. The BfR also emphasises the importance of following the instructions on product labels and using household items only as intended.
