Burda Verlag Names Andrea Bannert as New Focus-Gesundheit Editor-in-Chief
Burda Verlag Data Publishing has announced that Andrea Bannert will lead both the print and online editorial teams of Focus-Gesundheit starting in early 2026. She will succeed Andrea Hennis, who will retire after two years in the position.
Andrea Bannert, currently leading the online editorial team of Focus-Gesundheit since 2020, will take on the additional role of editor-in-chief of the magazine from January 1, 2026. A microbiologist by training and a trained medical editor, Bannert aims to further develop Focus-Gesundheit as an important interface between doctors and patients while maintaining high journalistic standards.
She will take over the editorial leadership of both the print and online departments of Focus-Gesundheit at Burda Verlag on the same date, marking a significant step in her career.
Andrea Bannert's appointment as the new leader of both the print and online editorial teams of Focus-Gesundheit, along with her role as editor-in-chief of the magazine, is set to bring fresh perspectives and expertise to the publication.
