Brandenburg Practices Well-Prepared for New E-Record - Brandenburg's Healthcare Facilities Ready for Nationwide EHR Rollout
Brandenburg's healthcare facilities are geared up for the nationwide rollout of the electronic health record (EHR). This digital innovation aims to streamline communication between clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies, benefiting both healthcare providers and patients.
As of October 1, doctors across Germany are required to record new diagnoses and findings electronically using the EHR. This move is part of a broader effort to modernize healthcare services and improve patient care.
Software manufacturers are at the forefront of developing the EHR technology, while health insurance companies are responsible for educating patients about its benefits and usage. Around 70 million insured persons have already received their EHRs since January, indicating a significant head start in preparation.
Brandenburg's clinics, hospitals, and pharmacies are all equipped and ready for the EHR's implementation. When patients visit their doctors, they automatically grant access rights to their EHR data for 90 days simply by inserting their insurance card at the reception desk.
The mandatory use of the EHR is set to enhance interoperability among healthcare providers, ultimately leading to more efficient and coordinated patient care. With Brandenburg's clinics well-prepared and patients gradually receiving their EHRs, the transition to digital health records is well underway.
