Belarus Braces for Flu Season: Vaccines Available Now
Belarus is preparing for its annual flu season. Hospitals are currently offering the 'Influvac Tetra' vaccine for those willing to pay for immunization. The flu peak is anticipated in late January to February, but no cases have been recorded yet. However, the number of people suffering from acute respiratory infections has been on the rise since early September.
While no specific information about circulating viruses is available, it's known that adenoviruses, respiratory syncytial virus, rhinovirus, and SARS-CoV-2 are present in Belarus. Three flu vaccines are available this season. Another vaccine for paid immunization is expected to arrive soon, adding to the current offer of the 'Influvac Tetra'. Despite the increase in acute respiratory infections, the current rates are at average long-term levels and do not raise alarm.
Experts predict an increase in flu infections later in the year, urging people to get vaccinated and take necessary precautions.
With the flu peak approaching, Belarusians are encouraged to consider vaccination. Currently, the 'Influvac Tetra' is available for a fee, with another vaccine expected soon. Staying informed and taking preventive measures will be crucial as the flu season progresses.
