Woohoo! Good news, folks! If you're eyeing a refreshing dip in Saxony-Anhalt's lakes and rivers for the upcoming summer, you're in for a treat! A whopping 90% of the designated bathing spots in the state have been given the coveted "excellent" rating by the health officials in Magdeburg.

The bathing season traditionally kicks off on the first rays of summer (Thursday, for the curious ones) and stretches till September 15. Last summer, we were already basking in the glory of 61 excellent waters—a figure that continues to rally in 2021.
Magdeburg's Ministry of Health announced the news, highlighting the region's unwavering efforts to maintain our beloved waters pristine and unpolluted. In fact, even the formerly 'deficient' Klietz lake in Stendal district, which faced a potential swimming ban last year, has now been cleared of all concerns. The lake's sorrowful tale became a success story courtesy of some stylish makeover, such as clearing up the ditches and planning a robust revival of the reeds.
