Expectant Mother Assaulted with a Knife - 23-Year-Old on Trial - Assault with a Knife: 23-year-old Accused in Pregnant Woman's Attack Case Faces Trial

In Hamburg-St. Georg District Court, a trial is underway for a violent altercation between two pregnant women. A 23-year-old stands accused of intentional bodily harm and threats after allegedly stabbing her one-year younger counterpart in the leg with a 15-centimeter blade on July 5, 2023, in the Horn district.

The dispute reportedly began over negative comments the defendant made about the other woman's family, particularly her mother. According to her defense attorney, the defendant admitted to the stabbing and attributed it to an emotional outburst caused by her hormones.

Upon her arrival at the house on an e-scooter, the defendant, who was three months pregnant, reportedly had a folding knife hidden in her vest. She claimed it was a common knife, like one might receive as a Christmas gift. During the altercation that followed, the knife fell out, and she picked it up to protect herself. She claimed she did not intend to harm the victim, focusing her attacks on the legs to defend against blows. After the incident, she discarded the knife.

The victim testified through tears, recounting her two- to three-day hospital stay and the resulting large scar on her leg. Despite their history as close friends who had grown up together, both women are now mothers. The victim stated that her child was helping her cope with the situation, expressing a desire to move forward.

The presiding judge has yet to announce a verdict in the case.

It should be noted that reports of a stabbing incident at Hamburg's main train station on May 23, 2025, have not been linked to the case in question.
