The girl was found two hours later, five kilometers away from the pool, wearing only flip-flops and a bikini.
Initially, the investigators focused on other suspects, but these were later ruled out. The man was identified through surveillance videos provided by the pool operator, Europa-Park. An unrelated witness provided the investigators with a clue to the man's identity.
