AI-Driven Cancer Metastasis Project DECIPHER-M Launches in Germany
A new research project, DECIPHER-M, has launched in Germany to tackle cancer cell metastasis using artificial intelligence. Led by Prof. Jakob Nikolas Kather, the project aims to improve diagnostics and treatment strategies. It is set to run from 2023 to 2030, initially funded with approximately 5.5 million euros from the BMBF.
DECIPHER-M takes a multimodal approach, combining various data types such as tissue samples, X-ray images, and genetic information. The project's coordinator, Prof. Kather, is based at the Technische Universität Dresden. However, details about other involved institutions remain scarce, as no search results were found.
The project involves partners from six cities: Aachen, Essen, Heidelberg, Mainz, Munich, and Dresden. The total planned investment is around nine million euros. The project's goal is to enable earlier and more precise cancer diagnoses, and develop personalized treatment strategies tailored to individual patients.
The DECIPHER-M research project, coordinated by Prof. Jakob Nikolas Kather, is set to enhance cancer diagnostics and treatment using AI. With a multimodal approach and significant funding, the project aims to improve patient outcomes and personalize care. Further details about the involved institutions are yet to be disclosed.
